R. I. Reds Add Ex-Players to 'Munch & Crunch' Set for PC on Feb. 4

Providence, RI (1/21/2012): The R. I. Reds Heritage Society has added two former pro hockey players to its group that will attend its 9th Annual “Munch & Crunch.” The event will be presented again this year on the campus at Providence College where the men’s hockey Friars will host the University of New Hampshire at Schneider Arena at 7 p.m., on Saturday, February 4.

Buzz Deschamps and Rich Pumple, both renowned hockey humorists, will join Rhode Island’s largest hockey historical society to repeat the past two year’s “new look” with its greatly reduced price of only $20 for fans attending the popular event that includes a delicious pre-game dinner, a Hockey East battle, and free parking at Schneider Arena – all on the comfortable PC campus.

In cooperation with PC the event will start at 5 p.m. with a dinner featuring various selections of delicious eats at the school’s state-of-the art Raymond Hall dining center. Later, at 7 p.m., fans will move to nearby Schneider Arena to watch a battle between a restocked, re-energized PC Friars’ team and the always powerful UNH Wildcats – both highly regarded Hockey East teams.

Bob Driscoll, PC's Athletic Director, will be guest speaker at Raymond Hall between dinner and the game. He has many new exciting things to talk about the college’s athletic future, including new hockey and basketball plans and the school’s commitment to construct new athletic facilities centered on Schneider Arena.

Both members and non-members of the Society are invited to attend as part of the Reds group. For further information call Buster Clegg, president of the R. I. Reds Heritage Society, at 401-247-2666. Deadline for reservations will be Monday, January 30.
