Reds Heritage Society Announces Postponement of 20th Annual Reunion

Providence, RI (5/18/2020): Due to the social distancing and health concerns brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the RI Reds Heritage Society has announced the postponement of its 20th Annual Reunion Weekend previously scheduled for Aug. 27 through 29.

The announcement was made by society president, Andre Mayer.

"It is with great regret that we postpone this popular annual event which has drawn former Reds and AHL players from across the United States and Canada back to our state to reminisce with fans of the game about the golden age of professional hockey here in Rhode Island," noted Mayer.

"Our three days of events and social gatherings, also includes team tributes and the presentation of annual awards for various achievements," he added. "Unfortunately, those ceremonies, including a tribute to Buster Clegg, the founder and longtime president of the Society, and our 'Unsung Hero' awards to high school players will be delayed until we reunite again next summer.

Next year's reunion is scheduled for Aug. 26 through 28 at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, RI.
