Heritage Society Announces Reunion Player Roster
Providence, RI (6/23/2019): The hockey stars will be shining again when more than two dozen ex-Rhode Island Reds and other hockey luminaries are spotlighted on stage and introduced to local puck enthusiasts at the R. I. Reds Heritage Society's 19th annual reunion at Goddard State Park in Warwick on Sunday, August 4 at noon.
"It's early, but right now we have by rough count 26 former players and pro hockey executives scheduled to attend this year's event," said Buster Clegg, the society's founding president. "These guys love to assemble each year and celebrate with fans the good old days of pro hockey here, especially at the old R. I. Auditorium."
Expected to attend are Noel Acciari, Stan Baluik, Mike Bloom, Serge Boudreault, Ross Brooks, Ray Clearwater, Bruce Cline, Mike Corrigan, Pete Demers, Buzz Deschamps, Jack Ferreira, Ron Garwasiuk, Doug Keeler, Bobby Leduc, Don McKenney, Don Mellor, Tom Mellor, Howie Menard, Rick Middleton, Hartland Monahan, Wayne Muloin, Andre Peloffy, Danny Poliziani, Howie Rosenblatt, Bobby Sheehan and Paul Stewart.
The Reds reunion event August 4 starts at noon at Goddard State Park in Warwick, will also feature the Society's annual awards' presentations, a delicious buffet dinner, music, raffles, and a silent auction of valuable hockey memorabilia. Cost is $40 per adult, $15 for children.
As an added weekend treat for fans and players, the reunion's annual dinner dance will be held at the 12 Acres banquet facility in Smithfield, RI on Saturday, August 3 and will feature guest speaker Greg Bouris, former communications director for the New York Islanders, the Florida Panthers and the MLB Players Association. Tickets are $50 per person.
